Make a custom Slack emoji from a video

Turn a video into an animated Slack emoji: a 128×128 transparent GIF under 128 KB, ready to upload as a custom emoji.

  1. Open your video at gifnobg.com and let the background be removed.
  2. Trim it to 1–3 seconds and crop tight around the face or object.
  3. Switch on Advanced, go to Export and choose Slack emoji. GifNoBg makes a 128×128 GIF under 128 KB.
  4. Press Download, then in Slack: click your workspace name → Tools & settings → Customise workspace → Emoji → Add custom emoji (the exact menu names can vary), and upload the GIF.

128 KB is very small. If the emoji doesn't fit, choose Every 2nd frame under the timeline, trim it shorter, or pick a simpler style.
